Will song lyrics in an artwork violate copyright?
While studying book arts, I was told by my college that using lyrics in our pieces would violate copyright law. I would recommend calling their label or representation and asking permission to use their words. Typically, they’ll ask about the number of copies being created, how much of the song you’ll be using, if it is being made for profit, etc. If they give permission, they could also ask you to include information giving the artist credit.
