Will the bend in the short Knee Nail be difficult to position during an ankle arthodesis?

Depending on the quality of the bone, we have not found the bend to be an issue. The bend of the short Knee Nail is closer to the end of the nail than in our IMSC implants, which were first used for ankle arthodesis in earlier generations. For this reason, the nail is less likely to be displaced in the tibia upon insertion. Our designing surgeons simply move the entry portal a little more posterior than they would with a straight nail design such as our ReVision nail. For harder bone, the use of a straight design may be preferrable.
