WON’T MY CHILD JUST OUTGROW THEIR ARTICULATION DISORDER?
Certainly, some children are able to fully outgrow certain types of articulation disorders. Others, however, cannot form the necessary motor coordination skills and repetitive patterns without direct assistance. This usually involves therapy. Furthermore, the longer an articulation disorder is present in a youngster the more difficult it becomes to change preset motor patterns. This is especially true in elementary school and middle school-aged children.
