Would taking applied Math in high school ruin my chances for University?

I disagree with the other responder. Academic math is not considered ‘regular’ math, and niether is applied. The type of mathematics that is ‘regular’ is the math that best suits you. Are you honestly trying your best? Or, are you failing to complete homework assignments because you don’t want to do them, your not paying attention in class etc. Because I can assure you, that if you would take the steps to pay attention in class and attempt homework, you would see your grades improve greatly, you would also see them improve greatly by reaching out to your teacher. Your teacher probably teaches almost 100 different kids each day, they can’t always identify when somebody’s struggling, but I’m sure that if you let them know, they would be glad to help you. If in fact you are trying your best, and are doing all the things I’ve suggested above and still aren’t improving, then maybe it is something you need to discuss with your current math teacher and with your guidance counsellor.
