Q: I heard that Lilian Jackson Braun had passed away… (Instant answer: no, she hasn’t.) A: Indeed not; she’s still alive and well. Believe me, we would know if the situation were otherwise – Lilian Jackson Braun is a best-selling author, and her passing would be big news (among the local North Carolina media if anything, and there are several fans living in the area and people in regular contact with her with online access who would know if anything were up). I still get a number of e-mails, though, from folks detailing how they were told by a mistaken bookstore employee that Ms. Braun had passed away. It’s not true.
