Mindless, mindless drivel. Please get educated on the subject. You apparently don’t even know anything about Foucault, otherwise you wouldn’t be implying that he was a philosopher who placed himself in “Danger” (unless we want to count unprotected sex and drug use). There is not even what remotely looks like any sort of rational argument in your post. It is just an extended ad hominem rant. I am not inclined to take somebody seriously who doesn’t make any sort of rational argument and apparently doesn’t even know the subject matter they are ranting about. Plus, of course, there is the inanity of blaming today’s student for a lack of philosophical genius in the world. That doesn’t make much sense because today’s students go on to become tomorrow’s geniuses (or not), not today’s. I always hope that at least one section on yahoo answers manages to avoid mindless trolls. Sadly, it doesn’t look like it is the philosophy section today.

I love this line “I no beef with these people but…” LOL Philosophy covers the full range of human experience and contemplates the essence of existence and the relationship that consciousness forms with it. Politics is but a single branch of philosophy. A true philosopher seeks to understand his self and is rewarded with insights about consciousness and its relationship with existence, some of such experiences are recorded concisely enough that the revelations can be communicated to others, these examples are often perserved by philosophy acedamia. But it is the experience itself that makes the philosopher not how well it is expressed to others. If you need the intensity of extreme circumstances to realize that experience or that you only respect such experiences that were arrived at by such circumstances,than you should do well to note that such requirements are subjective.
