Can gcc generate 64-bit binaries?

The gcc compiler with all versions of Interix/SFU/SUA can only generate 32-bit binaries, even on the 64-bit machines. The 64-bit machines can still run these 32-bit binaries without a problem. There is no plan that we currently know about for 64-bit-izing gcc with Interix.
