Can I increase my vocal range an octave higher?
Taking lessons can help you develop and use the voice you have, but adding on a whole other octave is a lot to ask for. Nevertheless, keep in mind, that at the age of 15, your voice is still maturing and developing and will sound different when you become an adult. Furthermore, a 3 octave range is nothing to sneer at! Due to the often exaggerated claims of some famous singers (I won’t mention names, but I could), many people have a skewed sense of what a typical vocal range actually is. For instance, average singers often have difficulty in hitting all the notes in “The Star-Spangled Banner” no matter what key it is transposed into, and yet our anthem only has a range of an octave and a half! Be careful, the worst thing you can do is to force yourself to sing in a range uncomfortable for you. You can permanently damage your voice this way.
