It is always an option, although not a lot of people use all purpose helmets for many reasons. If you are going to be skiing or snowboarding a lot, then just purchase a skiing/snowboarding helmet. If this is going to be one of the few times that you hit the slopes, then it would probably be a lot easier to use a bicycle helmet. However, bike helmets do not have any insulation in them, and your head will probably freeze. Buying a full face warmer (like there’s an open space for your eyes, and it covers your head and neck) would be a good idea. However, people might look at you strangely, because it looks sort of ridiculous seeing somebody wearing a helmet not intended for skiing or snowboarding. I don’t know how much you will be using it, but i would invest in a helmet intended specifically for skiing and snowboarding.
