Can one suffer from ocular rosacea without presenting with skin rosacea?
One can certainly suffer from ocular rosacea without skin rosacea, however, it is most frequently diagnosed when signs and symptoms of rosacea on the skin are also present. Recent studies have suggested that ocular signs and symptoms may occur before skin manifestations in approximately 20% of patients with ocular rosacea. Ocular symptoms may include: dry eyes, tearing and burning, swollen eyelids, blurred vision and light sensitivity. If you think you may have ocular rosacea, seek a referral to an opthalmologist for a proper diagnosis and treatment strategy.
