Do u agree that teen social problems are caused by ineffective parenting?

This is a really broad question that doesn’t have a concrete answer. Some social problems are caused by the way teens were raised and their current relationship with their parents, but there are so many other influencing factors. A parent who constantly belittles and criticizes a child could make them more prone to becoming a teen with low self-esteem. I know several girls who have said that problems at home were part of the reason for why they have eating disorders. When their parents were fighting or having issues the teen could have no control over, she would resort to something she could control, like her eating, or cutting. A child who is brought up with no boundaries or work ethic could be spoiled, lazy and entitled as a teen. And one who was never taught to treat others with respect and to be a good citizen will most likely have more problems making friends and keeping them than someone who was brought up differently.
