Do you think allowing a child to live on junk food is abuse.?

If they are ONLY eating that kind of crap then yes…it’s called neglect, because they aren’t reaching their nutrition needs… but no one will ever look at it that way, we have other things to worry about like kids being abused in so many other ways… in a perfect society kids would only be allowed to have those foods on a limited basis, but until we put more funding into our social services who are already failing some kids that are being abused, then they will not worry about the ones that have been neglected by ONLY eating junk! Really is sad ain’t it!

People need to watch how they throw around the phrase “child abuse”. It’s serious and it’s unnecessary to use it every time you encounter parenting you don’t agree with. No, i don’t think parents allowing their kids to live off of fatty foods is child abuse…it’s irresponsible, but it’s not child abuse. They do it out of pure laziness and lack of motivation to do right by their children. But i don’t say certain actions are child abuse based on my opinion, it’s a legal term and should be used as such.

Well, i think it’s a good thing to give your kids a choice and let them eat junk food. But to some extent you have to limit them, or else you will be neglecting their needs for a healthy life-style. As a parent you have to play the role of a parent and not a friend. Parents need to take responsibility and put their children’s best interest first.
