Does anyone know basic armored warfare strategies?
Well, armoured strategies have changed over time. During early WW2, there was little anti-tank weaponry, so tank divisions could operate alone deep behind the enemy line. But, very quickly tank killing tactics and technology evolved. So by mid WW2, tanks had to operate in coordination with infantry. Today the situation is even worse for tanks. There are so many weapons systems out there designed purely to kill tanks. From attack helicopters, ATGMs and RPGs to Anti-Tank mines, ditches and special artillery shells. Tanks are still very useful for taking advantage of a breakthrough that was created by infantry, operating in the poorly defended zone behind the enemy front, they can quickly exploit an opening. Although they still will need infantry support carried in IFVs preferably, or APCs if necessary. If there are any more specifics I can help with, please ask!
