Does anyone know some physical features of Colombia?
Colombia borders both the Pacific and Carribean to the west and North. Equador and Peru are to the south, with Brazil east and Venezuela to the northeast. The Andes run the length of South America and branch into three ranges in Colombia. In between are very rugged valleys and gorges. Most major cities sit atop these mountains, where there is little risk of malaria and other mosquito borne illness. To the east of these, the counrty flattens out and becomes the watershed for the Amazon. Colombians adjust their seasons by moving up or down in elevation since the weather is relatively constant otherwise. Physically Colombia is really beautiful and quite diverse ecologically.
Mostly Colombia has hills and mountains. There are nice beaches in the Caribbean coast. In the valleys the soil is rich and ripe for growing many things. Flowers are the biggest (legal) export. It is a warm climate along the Caribbean and Pacific coast, but the places above 2,000 feet can get chilly at night. In general, that describes the physical features of the country.
