Does inserting a tampon hurt?
If you have a hymen (what I think your friend was referring to) then yes, it may hurt. But the most important thing is just to relax and don’t force it…and if it doesn’t go in then try again later. If you take it in small steps like that then you should be fine. Obviously if you’re tense and just push it up there real hard then yes it’s probably going to hurt. Also make sure you have the smallest size for the first time you try them 🙂 Once you’ve got used to them though I doubt you’ll ever want to switch back to pads.
