Yes, it works with FiOS and you will no longer need your cable company’s box. While it’s true that using the FIOS set top box requires their router, FCC rules require that you be able to return cable system set top boxes (avoiding their monthly rental fee) and still view video programming. Mpower’s set top box is a Digital Cable Ready (DCR) device that decrypts broadcast channels using a CableCARD, which Verizon will rent for what their web site calls a low monthly fee.
