It’s always a challenge finding extra space for storage, especially in a small apartment. But the trick is to find space in your apartment that isn’t already being used for something else. Corners are commonly overlooked as storage space because trying to find furniture that fits and looks great can be a challenge. So rather than scouring stores for a piece of furniture that probably costs too much, make your own corner shelves to give an unusual–and practical–look to any room. Use the measuring tape and find the spot on the particle board where it is 20 inches wide. Draw a line with the pencil across the circumference of the board at that spot. Use the T-square to draw a line that dissects the first line you drew at a 90-degree in the middle (10-inch mark). This line should go across the entire diameter of the particle board.
