How Do You Change A Nissan 240SX Head Gasket?
Head gaskets are essential to the proper functioning of your car. The Nissan 240SX, just like any other car on the road, is equipped with a head gasket that helps seal the connection between the engine block and the head assembly. Oftentimes if the engine gets overly hot, the head gasket can warp and break. This causes the car to run poorly and can lead to more extensive and costly repairs later on. Pop the hood of your Nissan 240SX and locate the battery on the driver’s side front of the car. Disconnect the battery cables with the socket wrench. Unplug all of the wires leading to the head (large rectangular middle portion of the engine). Use sticky notes and the pen to label each wire so you know exactly what connection goes to each wire. Use the socket wrench to unscrew each of the eight head mounting bolts all the way around the perimeter of the head assembly.
