How Do You Confront Strong Personality Types?
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work with people who are just like you? If you are honest, you are thinking, that would be very boring. The beauty of life is that we all come in various styles. There are people who are naturally easy-going and gets along well with others. There are others who love to be in the spotlight. Then there are those who you could just live without. Those are typically the ones with the strong personality traits, e.g. Type D. The thing to always remember about other people is that they behave certain ways because of specific reasons. I like to use the term, ‘wired.’ I say, “they are wired a certain way.” A person with a strong personality type may be expected to change their style, but that is asking them to change who they are. What you want to do is let a person be themselves, but address certain behaviors. Behaviors can change, but do not attempt to change a person’s personality. That is a huge disservice.
