How Do You Maintain A Mop Bucket?
One crucial cleaning tool that is overlooked and neglected in a normal household is the mop bucket. With proper care and maintenance, a mop bucket should be able to last for several years. In fact, if a mop bucket is not properly maintained it can actually spread more bacteria and contaminants than it helps clean up. Empty contents of bucket. Rinse bucket with water and let bucket dry upside down. Every couple of months rinse bucket with a strong bleach solution and, if possible, allow bucket to dry outside in the sunlight. Examine bucket for cracks and residue on a regular basis. If bucket has wheels, test to see if they roll evenly. Replace wheels if they stick or are rusty. Rinse the wringers completely after each use. Remove the wringer apparatus from the bucket and hang up to allow complete drainage.
