How Do You Replace The Fuel Line On A Weed Whacker?
A common maintenance problem for most weed whacker owners is the deterioration of fuel lines that transport gas from the tank to the carburetor. Weed whacker engines often outlive these fuel lines, which become ineffective after even the slightest tear. Keeping your weed whacker in shape is simple with the purchase of some replacement tubing from your local home supply store. Plan to spend about 30 minutes on this project. Drain the fuel from your weed whacker’s fuel tank into a plastic fuel container. Take off the gas cap and tilt the weed whacker over to pour the gas into the container. Use a plastic funnel if necessary. Use a screwdriver to remove the retaining screws connecting the carburetor to the frame of your weed whacker. Pry out the plastic grommet that holds the fuel line and fuel filter in place at the top of your gas tank with your screwdriver. Pull the carburetor and attached fuel lines free from the weed whacker. Remove the fuel line from the carburetor with your needle-
