How Do You Steam Vegetables In A Rice Cooker?

0

Use a rice cooker for more than just cooking rice. Steaming vegetables in your rice cooker does not require much effort, but you will need to time them while they cook to prevent overcooking them. A rice cooker boils water faster than bringing water to a boil in a pot, which saves you time when you need to steam vegetables quickly. The rice cooker also automatically turns the heat down for you to prevent burning the rice or anything that may scorch inside the cooker. Fill the rice cooker with the appropriate amount of water. See the Resource section for a guide to the amount of water needed for your vegetables. Place the steam basket inside the rice cooker pan. Add the vegetables into the basket. Add any seasonings to the vegetables. Seasonings such as teriyaki sauce, salt and pepper will flavor the vegetables well. Cover the rice cooker with a lid. Plug the cord into the wall, and make sure that you turn the cooker on to the “Cook” setting. Set your timer to steam the vegetables. See
