How does the histogram work?
Every data graph can be set to show a histogram as well as a plot of the data. This histogram is calculated by determining the maximum and minimum values in the loaded data range, and dividing this range into 30 “buckets” or sub-ranges of equal length. Each point in the displayed data range is then categorized by the “bucket” into which it falls. Because the ranges are set based on the entire loaded data range, but only populated with data from the displayed data range, the histogram can be used to see at a glance how the points in the section you are viewing relate to the rest of the data set. To see the histogram for the entire loaded data range, use the range sliders to select the full range, or click on the “max” button at the upper left of the graph.
