How long does an Australian permanent residency application take to process (for nz citizens)?
I’m afraid that the new processing priorities which begin on 1st January will make it impossible to answer your question with any accuracy as all of the old bets are now off. There is no mention anywhere of Kiwis being treated any differently so you should probably assume that your application will be treated the same as all of the others. The new processing priorities (which apply even to applications already in the pipeline) are: 1. Employer sponsored visas 2. State or territory Government sponsored visas 3. Occupations on the critical skills list 4. Occupations on the Migration Occupations in Demand List 5. All other valid applications No one knows for sure, but I think it’s fairly safe to say that applications in the first 3 categories will take a few months at most and category 5 applications will take a very long time with MODL applications somewhere in between.
