How much does web hosting cost?
This can be free, or can cost several thousands of Naira per year, depending on which ISP you use and the facilities you require. You will find that most free web space (e.g. Yahoo geocities, Tripod etc) does not have the facilities you need, such as the ability to run scripts or databases with your site. Most free web space companies do not allow business sites to be hosted with them, and some insist on placing their own banner ads on your site. There is no separate “setup fee” other than Excell’s domain name registration charges. In other words, there is only one $95 fee from Excell that includes domain name and setup charges combined. The “monthly fee” is based on the amount of data transferred from your website. We have a three-tier structure. Included in each tier is a maximum amount of disk space. Additional disk space may be purchased at the rate of $1 per MB per month. If you exceed level three then Excell will contact you and to discuss moving your website to a dedicated server.
