Is this group – the 3rd Battalion, Provisional CSMR a rump? http://smr.vpweb.com/default.html I looked at the CSMR page and I couldn’t find where they listed these guys. Their missions according to their website: Unofficial Web Page Welcome to the 3rd Battalion (Bn), Provisional (Prov) of the California State Military Reserve (CSMR). The 3rd Battalion Provisional’s mission is to assist and train National Guard Units in Southern and Western Los Angeles and Orange County. Our first mission of training focuses on selected Army Warrior Tasks, to prepare soldiers on individual tasks before they deploy overseas. Our second mission is to support the National Guard during emergencies to include, fires, earthquakes, riots, floods, or terrorist attacks. Our third mission is to improve our general readiness to support the State of California during emergencies.
