Is Martin Cooper Married?
Martin Cooper was born in Liverpool in 1958 and studied art at the Laird School of Art in Birkenhead. This was followed by three years at the Sheffield College of Art where he obtained a first class honours degree in Fine Arts in 1980. Between 1980 and 1989 Martin was a member of the highly successful pop group Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. As part of OMD Martin performed and toured with the band extensively throughout Europe and the USA. The band achieved a number of chart successes both in the UK and internationally, including Architecture And Morality – one of the most successful albums of the 1980’s. The album also spawned Souvenir, co-written by Martin, a single which reached No. 3 in the UK charts. It also managed to reach No. 1 in France, Spain and Portugal. From 1990 Martin was part of The Listening Pool, the band he formed with ex-OMD members Paul Humphreys and Mal Holmes. Forming their own label Telegraph Records, they released the critically acclaimed album Still Life.
