I spent six weeks in the summer working my way through a Norwegian course, because I was visiting the Norwegian fjords at the end of August. I must say I really liked the language and have continued with it. I started off with the Pimsleur Norwegian course from my library. I found the grammar and a lot of the vocabulary very like English with a lot of words similar to German as well. I speak German,so I found it really easy to pick it up and finished the 10 lessons of the Pimsleur course in only 6 days. The Pimsleur course is great and easy, because it is based on repetition of what the native speaker says without having to read the words in a grammar book. However, when I had finished those lessons, I had to use another more conventional course, which I found more difficult as I came across the problem of reading the language.
