Is the pass-through cable required?
• Starting with v1.5 of the drivers, the card will work without the pass-through cable, but you won’t be able to view movies on your computer monitor. It checks for the presence of the pass-through at boot-time, so if you connect or disconnect the cable you should reboot before playing anything. • The Hollywood Plus will not work in “reverse pass-through” mode. • If you want to have your Hollywood Plus output on a separate monitor from your normal VGA (and thus avoid the possible signal degradation of the pass-through), here’s a way to do it: • Create this cable: VGA Monitor VGA output Pin Pin 1———Red——————————–1 2———Green——————————2 3———Blue——————————-3 5———GND——————————–5 6———GND——————————–6 7———GND——————————–7 8———GND——————————–8 10——–GND—————–o—GND——–10 13——–Hsync——-
