Nervous about speaking and listening test!!?

I used to compete in public speaking competitions when I was in school. These are the pointers I can give you. Always choose a topic that interests you. You’re more likely to know a lot of information on a subject you like. Unless your teacher is giving you topics, then try to twist the topic to make it more interesting. If there is a time limit, make sure you practice a few times (I always did in front of the mirror) to make sure you’ll have enough time. Try to talk at a regular pace….not too fast, not too slow. And remember to speak clearly. THat is very important!! I always wrote my speech on cue cards. It’s a good back up incase you forget a line. But try not to read off of your cards the entire time. Try not to look at the people but scan by them or look at the back of the class room….then you tend to forget they are even there. The most important thing I can tell you is to relax, breathe and HAVE FUN!! You have a few minutes to talk about ANYTHING you want. And your class HAS
