The confirmation email says to check application status online. Does the status ever change from “applied”?
There are three states of online application status: Applied, Reviewing Resumes, and Hired/Position Filled. The status changes from Applied to Reviewing Resumes when the recruiter begins the resume review process. The status will change from Reviewing Resumes to either Hired (if you are hired for the position) or Position Filled (if you are not the selected candidate). Please note that may take some time for the status to change from Reviewing Resumes to Hired/Position Filled – it depends on the department’s hiring timeline. Human Resources does not have any information on the department’s hiring timelines.
