What are the objectives of SWM?
The two main objectives of SWM are: i) Waste reduction: the best approach to managing solid waste is to avoid creating it in the first place. Therefore reduce the amount of waste you discard and reuse containers and products instead of throwing them away. ii) Effective management of solid waste: waste once produced should be effectively handled and recycled/reused in an environmentally sound and economically sustainable manner.
