The letter (A, B, C, D, etc.) is the cup size, or the actual size of the breasts. On a bra, this part is the cups. The number 34-48 indicates the measurement around a woman’s body right under her breasts. This is size of the band. So, a really petite female (or young and developing) with small cups might wear a 32AA, while a more volumptuous woman might wear a 38DD. Make sure you get measured correctly, like in a bra store before purchasing.
