How could something like that occur? I know what you might be thinking – that he was always a hypocrite and a liar. But, I suspect that wasn’t the case. The Adversary works very hard to bring down Christian leaders, especially those with any type of following or notoriety. His approach is simple and similar to any military strategy during times of war. There is far greater advantage in “killing off” a Colonel than in killing off a private. Not because one human life is more valuable than another, but rather because more damage is done by getting to a leader than simply a follower. This same rule applies in families. So in reality, do you think the Adversary really cared about Ted Haggard as a man? I would say not!
