What impact has HBO had in the English movie channel space since its launch in 2000?
Prior to our launch of HBO, the genre was more title-led with several gaps in the kind of titles shown, the overall packaging and also marketing. With HBO, we changed the game from just airing English movies to offering viewers a ‘complete Hollywood experience.’ It was about quality of titles, theme-based time slots and audience segmentation. We were looking at establishing ourselves as a brand and not just any other channel.
