What is a manufacturing maintenance technician?
Manufacturing maintenance technicians are responsible for preventive maintenance of machinery and automated equipment. Examples include lubricating machinery, performing diagnostic tests, checking performance and testing damaged machine parts. In addition to this, technicians must address machine problems that occur. After diagnosing the problem, the mechanic disassembles the equipment to repair or replace the defective parts. With the advent of advanced technology, these workers increasingly use electronic and computer skills to repair complex equipment.
