What is it like to work with (or SWAT teams, hostage negotiations, serial killers, CSI labs)?
Like most forensic psychiatrists and psychologists, I spend little time in those situations. After all, I’m a doctor, not a law enforcement officer or investigator. Although a tiny number of psychiatric or psychological experts do work often in such settings, what most of us really do from day to day is quite different, and usually far less exciting, than the things one sees in movies and television shows.
