What is the difference between information security and computer security?
Information security is related to securing information from unauthorized access. It can be co-related with the data in the encrypted form to protect from the unknown sources. In the highly advanced IT support service providers the main issue for the providers is securing the information or database from the unauthorized or modifing softwares. Information security is one of the critical issues now a days.
Computer security is related with all the processes or mechanism by which all the computer based equipment, softwares and services are protected. It majorly consists of all the hardware protection whereas information security is related with protecting database.
Where computer security deals with the processes applied to computer system(s), information security concerns all of the aspects regarding the system of policies and/or procedures for identifying, controlling, and protecting information from unauthorized disclosure. While often synonymous, information security is actually a superset of computer security, encompassing the fields of data security, transmission security, network security, physical security, personal security, and personnel security, among others.
