What is the future for the coffee shop?
The coffee shop is expanding. There will be more opportunities for the community and other nonprofits to get involved. And that means more jobs for people on the West Side and a jumping off point for nonprofits to assist the community. There are no set boundaries here. Anything can happen. There is lots of opportunity for this area to see what other areas see. What is your most popular drink? Our signature drink is the Mocha Latina. When we first started, our drinks were limited, so I started to mess around with different ingredients. Now we have smoothies, coffee, hot chocolates, sodas and pastries. What’s your favorite drink? I love regular brew. I like my coffee black with no cream. Sometimes I burn myself out with too much caffeine. But if I drink enough of that, I’m good to go. What are some of the events the coffee shop hosts? We have poetry readings, different youth groups and nonprofit meetings. And on occasion we have jazz and rock concerts.
