This has been declared by the European Commission in a report on the progress of biofuels in the EU regarding the impact of biodiesel on the expansion of palm plantations. The food industry is by far the sector with the highest responsibility for the growing demand for palm oil in the world. The role of biofuels in this phenomenon, and therefore in deforestation, is very small.
