What is the rest time before taking the Army P.T. test?
They don’t have to give you a rest period before a record PT test, although common sense would dictate that your results would be better if they did. I always found it funny when they’d give us a “surprise” record PT test the day after a grueling unit run, and often only a few weeks or a couple months after the last “record” PT test… then complain and wonder why everyone’s scores were so low. Gee… that’s a toughie… Personally I would’ve liked it if they’d put that much emphasis into keeping our MOS skills up to speed and keeping us as proficient at our jobs as possible, rather than worrying about how fast we could run or making us go out to the field for yet another 3-week long gunnery qualification every few months. But that would’ve made sense, which is probably why they avoided that line of thinking. EDIT: In response to Glenn… “BDE” is the abbreviation for brigade.
