• They are a City resident • They are at least 62 years of age by January 1 of the applicable year or have met specified disability criteria, and • Their total household income does not exceed the specified amount for the applicable year. Disabled claimants must provide evidence of disability income and must meet the criteria as established by the Social Security Administration Suppliemental Program for the aged, blind and disabled. (Title XVI) This program provides for a quarterly check depending on the applicant’s qualifying income to be used to offset housing costs. Apply at the Finance Department Service Counter, 2nd level of City Hall, 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd. The City also offers special rates for Dial-A-Ride and TOT bus services for the disabled with a valid ADA card. Applications for an ADA card may be obtained from the Ventura County Transit by calling (800) 438-1112 or (805) 642-1591.
