I know nothing about buying cheap yarn over the internet in the uk, but have a couple ideas to share with you: 1. if you are buying it on the internet, it doesn’t really have to be in the uk. Search ebay for sellers who ship worldwide. I don’t actually find the yarn on ebay very cheap though, after shipping is paid. 2. There are ways to get yarn for free. If you put out the word that you are a knitter among friends and relatives, you will be amazed at the amount of yarn people dump on you! I know a couple of people who are real estate agents. Whenever these agents list a home that belonged to a deceased knitter, they find a huge stash of yarn and they tell the family they know who will appreciate it. Plus, lots of people THINK they are knitters, so they go out and buy nice yarn when they find it on sale. Then, they realize they don’t want it and give it to me. Those are just a few ideas.
