Where is the Best Country Bar in Chicago, Illinois?

This is a very good place for karaoke in a rather low-key and unpretentious atmosphere. The crowd is supportive, sometimes even attentive, and will clap for you even if you don’t have a good voice. The bar recently developed its own new-and-improved karaoke system with lyrics on the TV monitors, better software, and more songs. The KJs are still learning the new system so it’s not perfect yet, but it’s still a great place to sing some songs. Karaoke starts at 8:30 on Sundays and 9:30 on Tuesdays. Pros + Karaoke can’t be beatCons – None

The Hideout is exactly what it says; somewhere off the beaten path that for all intents and purposes shouldn’t even exist, and therefore most people will never know it does. What I really like about this place is the feeling every single night that you’ve just stepped into a secret party with all the people you wanted to see and none of the white caps and attitude from the usual “there’s this hip new bar” crowd. Because let’s face it: this place isn’t somewhere anybody goes while just barhopping, it’s beautiful inside–with all the old furnishings and setup– which brings me to the point that it’s not “hot” because it’s not new, it’s well over 70 years old. Highly recommended.

A fun atmosphere, with music that really gets the crowd going! If you plan to do any serious dancing, it is better to get there early. After midnight, the floor is more of a mosh pit. A great time to be had, if you time it right. Lots of good dancers there! The Wednesday band is good, but the weekend band rocks the house! Especially when Reva is cranking them out! Pros + Good Music, friendly peopleCons – too crowded late at night. All the 2 a.m.bars empty. and show up there
