Why did the kids kneel while having their school portraits taken?

A. We admit it seemed a bit strange to us, too, so we asked Lifetouch, the studio taking the students’ portraits. They responded that they are using new equipment which better positions the kids to be photographed. While the resulting pictures will still be head and shoulder shots, the kneeling position keeps kids in a relaxed pose that doesn’t require as much adjustment from the photographer. You know the drill; “Lift you chin,” “Drop your shoulder,” “Sit up straight” etc. They also told us that this year the photographs were taken using a digital camera.
