Why does my Citroen Xantia auxiliary belt shred?
Options are: >Incorrectly fitted Check that it is placed in the correct order around the pulleys >out of alignment and hitting engine Make sure it is not too far over one side or the other. Check aircon and alternator and power steer pump are on securely > Broken/sticking pully Make sure all idler wheels turn freely, check crankshaft pulley has not delaminated >hitting car Check your engine mounts, check for loose items nearby that could move and hit the belt > Belt old If your belt is suffering from old age, put it out of its misery and replace it.
