Why use replaceable batteries instead of rechargeable batteries?
The 915 MHz technology is highly efficient and allows for the use of smaller, long life 3V lithium batteries. This leads to smaller, lighter, more compact hand held transmitters and receiver collars. Combined with other, more modern technology incorporated in Remington Sporting Dog products, these batteries can be replaced in the field without the need to resynchronize or reprogram the unit. This is a significant advantage over traditional remote training collars. Additionally, rechargeable batteries lose their capacity over time and hold lower and lower charges. This produces a situation where one does not know how long the remote training unit will work.
