Will my 7 month border terrier puppies stop fighting after their first season has finished?
The puppies will stop fighting as soon as their ‘heat’ is over, and getting them spayed will stop the fighting totally. The puppies are not actually trying to ‘kill each other’ no matter how horrible it looks to you … but their coming into heat together tells them that they are ‘grown up’ now and need to ‘defend their territory’ … but they are still sisters, still love each other, and the fight over who will be the ‘alpha dog’ will end with their heat. YOU should be the alpha dog, by the way, so simply separate them and pay EQUAL attention to each of them separately, and everything should be FINE. And don’t forget to get them spayed IMMEDIATELY after their first heat is over.
