1. It takes some work to homeschool your children.  Fortunately, there are a lot of places from which you can get the information and the support that you need.

    Books

There are books available to guide you along your journey.  You will find a lot of different opinions in these books but having different viewpoints can help you find the right methods and goals for your homeschool.

    Support Groups

Local support groups are another great resource.  These exist to support you and your children throughout the homeschooling process.  Not only will you find emotional support here but you will also find social activities for children.

    Homeschool Organizations

You may also want to get some information from a larger organization that specializes in homeschooling or some part of it.  One such resource is the National Home Education Network, which has a significant presence online with plenty of materials that you can read.  There is also NATHHAN (National Challenged Homeschoolers Associated Network), which exists to help those parents who are homeschooling children with learning disabilities.  Of course, these are just two of the organizations that exist.

    Free Curriculum

Not only is there a lot of information available for parents, there is also free curriculum on almost every subject available online today as well.  You can also get books and lesson plans from your local school district.
