How would I take care of an Echeveria Plant?
There’s quite a diverse range of Echeverias today, including many hybrids, with slight differences in care requirements. They’re succulents, and store water in their leaves, telling you a little about the drier conditions they naturally come from. Overall, they all like very well draining positions, and don’t like tons of water, otherwise they can easily rot. Use a gritty potting soil, if grown indoors, otherwise outdoors add plenty of grit to their planting position – if it is a somewhat damp area, consider raising the soil a little, to counteract this. Indoors keep water off their leaves, and allow them to dry out a little, before watering again. Outdoors they like temperatures above 60F, and like reasonably good light conditions – for most of the group – some like a little shade.
